Irshaad specialises in employment and labour law and acts for various private and public sector clients, including trade unions, multinationals, corporations, state-owned entities, municipalities, and executive employees. He has been part of precedent setting litigation in the Labour Courts, Supreme Court of Appeal and Constitutional Court, and has been instrumental in settling many disputes.

Irshaad has also managed and advised on several high value cross-border employment law projects for large multinationals and assisted with several African cross-border labour disputes. He has also generally advised on a broad spectrum of labour law matters, including complex section 197 transactions, restraint of trade disputes, large and small-scale restructuring, misconduct, and incapacity disputes. Irshaad has also initiated and chaired complex disciplinary hearings and grievance disputes.

Irshaad has written widely on labour law and has presented papers on labour law at various conferences. He is currently serving in his fourth year as a national committee member of the South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW).

Irshaad has acted as a judge of the Labour Court of South Africa and is recognised by Best Lawyers for his expertise in Labour and Employment Law.

He received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in 2006 and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2008, both from the University of the Witwatersrand.
